JAMB Opens Access to 2026 UTME Original Result Slips, Advises Candidates on Admission Requirements

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that candidates who participated in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) can now begin printing their original result slips, a key document required for admission processing into higher institutions across Nigeria.

The examination body disclosed that the result slips would become accessible to candidates within hours on Wednesday, providing them with an opportunity to obtain the official record of their performance in the nationwide entrance examination.

In a statement issued in Abuja, JAMB's Public Communication Adviser, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, explained that the original result slip serves as an authenticated document containing important candidate information beyond the scores already released.

According to him, the document features the candidate's photograph, national ranking, and additional security elements designed to verify its authenticity and prevent fraudulent alterations. These features make the result slip an essential document for official academic and admission-related purposes.

Benjamin noted that many tertiary institutions across the country require the original UTME result slip during post-UTME screening exercises and admission verification processes. As such, candidates seeking admission into universities, polytechnics, colleges of education, and other higher institutions are encouraged to obtain the document promptly.

He explained that candidates can conveniently print the result slip using any internet-enabled device or through accredited business centres authorised to provide JAMB-related services.

The board further advised candidates to carefully review all information displayed on the document after printing. This includes verifying personal details, examination information, scores, and other relevant records to ensure accuracy before submission to institutions.

Education experts have consistently stressed the importance of safeguarding admission documents, as they often form part of the requirements throughout the admission cycle. Candidates are therefore encouraged to keep both digital and hard copies of their result slips for future reference.

The development marks another stage in the 2026 admission process, as thousands of candidates across the country prepare for post-UTME screenings and other admission exercises. With institutions expected to commence admission activities in the coming months, possessing the original UTME result slip is considered an important step toward securing placement in a preferred institution.

JAMB urged candidates to act early, avoid last-minute rushes, and ensure all admission-related documents are properly preserved to facilitate a smooth admission process.
