...Deploys 4,000 CNG Tankers, Offers Free Logistics to Boost Fuel Access

The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced plans to commence the nationwide distribution of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) and diesel starting from August 15, 2025, in a move set to transform Nigeria’s energy distribution landscape.

As part of the rollout, the refinery has deployed 4,000 brand-new Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered tankers to enhance its national logistics network. The initiative will benefit marketers, petrol dealers, manufacturers, telecoms firms, aviation, and other large-scale fuel users across the country, with free delivery logistics provided by the company.

In a statement released today, the refinery explained that the new programme is aimed at reducing logistics costs, improving fuel affordability, and stimulating economic growth. In addition to the CNG tankers, Dangote is investing in daughter booster stations and 100 additional CNG trucks to guarantee smooth fuel supply, even in remote areas.

“This initiative is a major step toward making fuel more accessible, reducing inflationary pressure, and supporting Nigeria’s industrial base,” the statement read. “It will reactivate dormant filling stations, drive SME growth, and promote job creation.”

Under the scheme, all registered petrol stations sourcing PMS and diesel directly from the Dangote Refinery will enjoy enhanced logistics and delivery support. Key sectors like telecommunications, aviation, and manufacturing are expected to benefit significantly through reduced production and operational costs.

In a bid to encourage large-scale purchases, the refinery is offering a credit facility: buyers who purchase at least 500,000 litres of fuel can access an additional 500,000 litres on credit for two weeks, backed by a bank guarantee.

The refinery also disclosed that registration and Know Your Customer (KYC) verification for interested participants will run from June 16 to August 15, 2025. Stakeholders are encouraged to contact the following numbers for enquiries:

This landmark effort, according to the company, aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, reflecting a joint commitment to sustainable economic reforms and inclusive growth. The refinery also acknowledged the Federal Government’s Naira-for-Crude scheme, which it said has played a pivotal role in stabilising domestic fuel supply amid global price fluctuations.

“This is not just a business decision; it is a national movement,” the company added. “We are committed to ensuring that no part of Nigeria is left behind in this energy revolution.”

Dangote Petroleum Refinery, one of the world’s largest single-train refineries, reaffirmed its commitment to national development and described the initiative as a milestone in Nigeria’s midstream and downstream energy sectors.
