The Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Engr. Muttaqa Rabe Darma, has inaugurated the Katsina State Coordinating Committee of the “Arewa for Asiwaju” organisation.
The inauguration ceremony and press briefing were held on Sunday, September 20, 2026, at the conference hall of Fams Hotel in Katsina metropolis, with key stakeholders and members of the organisation in attendance.

Speaking with journalists, Engr. Muttaqa Rabe Darma said the organisation was established to create awareness and communicate the development initiatives being implemented by the Federal Government across Northern Nigeria.
According to him, the formation of the group followed consultations with prominent national figures, including the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, former Jigawa State Governor, as well as other ministers and former government officials.
The minister explained that the major objective of the coordinating committee was to bring together and highlight various development projects executed by the government in the North, while ensuring that citizens are properly informed about their impact.
He added that the organisation would embark on activities across different parts of the region to sensitise the public and provide information on government programmes and achievements.
Engr. Muttaqa Rabe Darma, who serves as the chairman of the committee in Katsina State, called on journalists to continue supporting the initiative by providing accurate and responsible coverage of the organisation’s activities and government programmes in general.
