THOUSANDS OF APC MEMBERS DECAMP TO PDP IN KATSINA STATE

Thousands of All Progressive Congress (APC) members defected to Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in various wards across Daura, Jibia, Batsari, Kankara, Malumfashi, Sabuwa, Matazu and, Musawa LGAs of Katsina State on the 10 of September 2026.

Senator Yakubu Lado Danmarke, the PDP Governatorial candidate Katsina State, received some of the decampees at the GRA Daura residence of the Senatorial candidate of the PDP Daura Senatorial Zone Alh Abdulkarim Umar Dauda.

While defectors from Batsari, Ingawa, Jibia, Malumfashi, Mashi, Matazu, Musawa, kankara, Safana and Sabuwa were later received at the residence of Senator Yakubu Lado in Katsina.

At a strategic consultation and engagement with some wards leaders and supporters in Daura, the defectors were presented to the PDP Governatorial candidate Senator Yakubu Lado Danmarke by the Senatorial candidate of the PDP Daura Senatorial Zone Alh Abdulkarim Umar Dauda.

The interaction focused on the strategies for the success of all PDP aspirants in the forthcoming 2027 elections and the ultimate defeat of APC in Katsina State.

Speaking at the occasion, Alh Abdulkarim Dauda Umar welcomed the defectors and described their actions as a testimony to the  incompetence, misgovernance, and glaring failure of APC government in Katsina State.

Similarly,  Alh Ahmadu, Honorable Iliya Sani, Dr Haske Abdulaziz Kasim, Barr Shamsu Ibrahim and Women leaders Haj Razika Sani and Mrs Ladi Maman Emma from kankara, Sabuwa and Matazu Local government areas assured PDP Governatorial candidate of their resolve and loyalty to the party as they have sincerely defected from the APC to the PDP.

Explaining the motivation for their action, Barr Shamsu Ibrahim, who spoke on behalf of decampees from Sabuwa LGA said:  "All the promises made by the APC government in Katsina State are yet to be fulfilled.  Insecurity is on the increase, we still can't access our farms, some of our people are in captivity, most of our schools have closed, and our hospitals are empty, no doctors, no drugs, no light and no security"... we believe that Senator Lado can help us out of the terrible condition if he wins the 2027 election".

Receiving the defectors, Senator Yakubu Lado thanked them for their foresight and patriotism by joining the PDP and by their resolve and determination to work for his victory in the impending 2027 election. He urged them to work extra hard, move house to house, villages to villages to mobilize people to vote out the insensitive and incompetent APC government. He further charged them to strongly defend their votes, right from the voting, to collation centers and to the final announcement of results.

Dignitaries present at the event include PDP Governatorial running mate Amb Yakubu Rumah, PDP Chairman Katsina State Alh Nura Amadi Kurfi, Brigadier General Sagir Musa rtd, Alh Ali Mani, Dan Lawan Katsina Alh Hamisu Gambo and Alh Aliyu Abubakar Batsari among other several party loyalists and

 supporters.
