The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has officially launched its campaign activities in Katsina State’s Daura Senatorial Zone, with its senatorial candidate, Alhaji Sani Garki, pledging to deliver effective representation and maintain close ties with constituents if elected in the 2027 general elections.

The campaign inauguration, held in Daura on Saturday, brought together ADC candidates contesting various elective positions, party leaders and supporters who gathered to rally support for the party ahead of the polls.

Addressing the crowd, Garki assured residents that his leadership would be built on accessibility, consultation and responsiveness to the needs of the people. He promised to keep his doors open at all times and maintain regular engagement with communities across the senatorial district.

According to him, meaningful development can only be achieved when elected representatives remain connected to the people they serve and work collectively to address their concerns.

The senatorial hopeful urged voters in the zone to support all ADC candidates at every level, stressing that a united team would be better positioned to pursue development projects and defend the interests of Daura Zone.

Garki expressed gratitude to the leadership of the ADC for entrusting him with the party’s senatorial ticket, describing the opportunity as a call to service and a chance to contribute to the progress of his constituency.

He also appealed to supporters to extend the same level of backing to the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, and the Katsina State governorship candidate, Ahmad Babba-Kaita.

Speaking on the party’s national agenda, Garki said the ADC presidential candidate had outlined policies aimed at revitalising the economy and improving business activities across the country.

He expressed confidence that Atiku would implement his campaign promises if elected president, including measures he believes would stimulate economic growth and create a more favourable environment for businesses.

The ADC senatorial candidate also praised Babba-Kaita, describing him as a leader committed to the welfare of ordinary people and capable of bringing positive change to Katsina State.

Earlier, the party’s governorship candidate, Ahmad Babba-Kaita, represented by his running mate, Architect Ahmad Yar’adua, called on party members and supporters to remain united and work towards the success of all ADC candidates.

Yar’adua said Babba-Kaita possessed the experience and vision needed to transform Katsina State, expressing confidence that his administration would outperform previous governments if given the mandate by voters.

In his remarks, the ADC State Chairman, Alhaji Lawal Batagarawa, represented by the Deputy State Chairman, retired Brigadier General Maharazu Tsiga, described the party’s mission as a movement aimed at providing a fresh direction for the state and the country.

Tsiga said the ADC was entering the political contest with the goal of improving governance and addressing the challenges facing communities across Katsina State and Nigeria as a whole.

He urged party supporters to mobilise voters, remain committed to the party’s ideals and ensure that every vote cast for ADC candidates is protected during the election process.

The campaign event marked the beginning of what party leaders described as an intensive grassroots mobilisation effort across the Daura Senatorial Zone as the ADC seeks to strengthen its presence ahead of the 2027 elections.
