Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has pledged to provide a hospital and streetlights for Yar’Barza community in Batagarawa Local Government Area, while exploring opportunities to improve road infrastructure in the area.

The Governor made the pledge on Monday during the flag-off of an empowerment programme organised by Hajiya Hafsat Abdullahi, Aide to the Governor on Protocol II and Convener of Women Network for Dikko, in collaboration with Northern Women Political Awareness, to support 1,000 less privileged women and orphans with ₦10,000 each.

Governor Radda commended Hajiya Hafsat for the initiative, describing it as a commendable contribution to grassroots development and a demonstration of commitment to improving the welfare of vulnerable members of society.

"We thank Almighty Allah for granting us the opportunity to witness this occasion. We commend Hajiya Hafsat for supporting the less privileged and complementing the government’s efforts to improve people’s lives," he said.

The Governor noted that his administration would continue to encourage individuals and groups implementing initiatives that directly benefit their communities.

"Whenever our members undertake initiatives of this nature, we make efforts to identify with them and officially flag off their programmes. This is how we encourage community service and support for vulnerable people," he said.

Responding to requests by the community, Governor Radda assured residents that the government would work towards providing a hospital and streetlights, while exploring collaboration with the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP) to improve road infrastructure.

He also commended the people of Yar’Barza for their impressive turnout and support for the empowerment programme.

Earlier, Hajiya Hafsat Abdullahi, Aide to the Governor on Protocol II, thanked Governor Radda for providing a platform for individuals and groups to contribute to community development.

"Our Principal, Governor Radda, has given us a platform to thrive. His presence here today to flag off this empowerment programme in my hometown is a historic and memorable moment for us," she said.

She commended the Governor for supporting various empowerment initiatives across the state, noting that his encouragement had motivated her to extend assistance to less privileged women and orphans.

Hajiya Hafsat appealed to the state government to construct and rehabilitate roads across the wards, provide a hospital and install streetlights in Yar’Barza to improve healthcare delivery, transportation and security.

She expressed confidence that the Governor would consider the requests and reaffirmed her commitment to supporting vulnerable members of society.

Also speaking, the Chairman of Batagarawa Local Government Area, Hon. Lawal Yahaya Kawo, expressed delight at the programme on behalf of the local government and its residents.
