Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, is set to flag off the disbursement of the 2024/2025 bursary allowances to students of Katsina State origin on Wednesday, December 24, 2025.
The ceremony will take place at the Katsina State Scholarship Board Complex, Kofar Sauri, Katsina, by 10:00 a.m. During the event, the governor is also expected to commission key projects executed by the Scholarship Board.
A highlight of the programme will be the presentation of the Katsina State Government Award of Academic Excellence, designed to recognise students who have recorded outstanding academic performance.
In line with the state government’s inclusive education policy, special scholarship awards will be presented to students living with disabilities and those with special educational needs, reaffirming the administration’s commitment to equal access to education.
As part of efforts to promote student welfare and dignity in schools, sanitary kits will also be distributed to female students.
The event will further feature the commissioning of the new Office of the Executive Secretary of the Katsina State Scholarship Board, as well as Phase I of the renovation and upgrade of the Scholarship Board Complex, aimed at enhancing service delivery and institutional efficiency.
Speaking ahead of the ceremony, the Executive Secretary of the Katsina State Scholarship Board, Dr Aminu Salisu Tsauri, said the initiative reflects Governor Radda’s commitment to transparency, efficiency and timely support in scholarship administration.
He added that the upgraded facilities would strengthen operational capacity and provide a more conducive environment for students and other stakeholders, stressing that education remains a central pillar of the Radda administration’s development agenda.
The event is expected to attract top government officials, education stakeholders, students and members of the public.
