SOME people who hate the truth may see me as a regional jingoist, going by the heading of this article. I am not, and I have many evidence to prove that. The evidences are both human and pictorial.

THE many Arewa groups appear nowhere to be found at the time when the GIANT Geo political region needs them most. 

PRESIDENT Bola Ahmed Tinubu is doing to the North as he pleases, and only an insignificant number of people from the region is challenging him. He is spending most of the money belonging to the Commonwealth on his Lagos home state, and some other states in the Western region (his’). He leaves the North to take care of its almost countless problems.

HE has deliberately denied power to the North, thereby killing most of the industries located there. Kano, which used to be the center of commerce for the entire West African region, is now known more famously as the state of THUGS. 

The only pro-Arewa organisation that is constantly up-and-doing, as far as the writer of this article is concerned, is the Katsina state-based ‘Arewa Unity Forum’, chaired by ‘Amb. H. E. Nasiru Umar Dutsinma’.

I have had a cause to disagree with Arewa Unity Forum in the past over an issue that the two of us have since resolved. But that will however, not affect my belief in the UTILITY of the forum to the Northern Region.

BUT nowhere to be found are socio/cultural organisations that were said to have been formed to fight for the North and its interests. These include Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), Northern Elders Forum (NEF), Arewa Political Front (APF) and Northern Political Mirror (NPM). 

MOST probably the leading members of the aforementioned groups, are busy lining up their pockets with money from the upper most hierarchy of the present regime. This much, according to a Northern daredevil woman politician, is what an elder of North gave her as an answer when she persistently asked the gathering of the Northerners in Kaduna, “what the Tinubu administration has done for the North that this gathering is urging Northerners to reelect him in 2027?”.

THE Northern region is the place where one governor bought a single car worth N600 million in a state where about 6 million + are living in EXTREME poverty and penury, with many of them going to bed with an empty stomach. It is also a state where the public schools have dilapidated, except those that have been window-dressed around give the impression that all public schools in the state are like that, and there is also no hospital worth the name, as most are either places someone goes to die, or to get additional disease.

THE purchase of the BMW vehicle was, to be sure, a subject of sermons by Imams in many Friday Mosques last week. But when the heat of the matter got too much to bear, the government of the state came out with a FANTASTIC tale that the car “is a gift to the governor by a friend”. The explanation is not believed by all, hence the sermons.

MAY God prevent the North from what the Hausas call ‘HAIHUWAR YUYUYU’. That may appear to be what the many so called pro-North organisations represent.
