The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced a major reshuffle in the leadership of its National Convention Central Planning Committee, replacing Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, with former Katsina State Governor, Aminu Bello Masari, as chairman of the committee.

The decision was disclosed on Thursday following a meeting of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) in Abuja, ahead of preparations for the APC’s forthcoming national convention.

According to party sources, Governor Uzodimma, who previously chaired the committee, has been reassigned to serve as Treasurer of the convention planning body, while Masari will now oversee the coordination and execution of activities leading to the national convention.

The APC leadership explained that the reconstitution of the committee is aimed at strengthening internal organization, improving efficiency, and ensuring a smooth and credible convention process.

Aminu Bello Masari, a former Speaker of the House of Representatives and two-term governor of Katsina State, is widely regarded within the party as an experienced administrator with deep knowledge of party structures and national politics.

The APC national convention is expected to play a critical role in shaping the party’s leadership and strategic direction ahead of future electoral contests.

Party officials have assured members and stakeholders that the changes will not disrupt preparations, but rather enhance coordination and inclusiveness as the convention date approaches.
