Governor Radda Felicitates with Muslims on Hijrah 1448AH; Calls for Unity in Fighting Insecurity

Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda has felicitated with Muslims in Katsina State on the occasion of the 1st of Muharram 1448AH, the Islamic New Year.

The Governor described the day as a time for reflection, spiritual renewal, and recommitment to the values of peace and communal harmony.

“Hijrah is a celebration of journey toward better days. It symbolizes the courage to abandon what is wrong and embrace what is right. It teaches that migration to safety, to peace, to stability is sometimes necessary,” said Governor Radda.

He called on all citizens—regardless of religion, ethnicity, or background—to embrace the spirit of unity that the Islamic New Year represents, urging citizens to stand together to defeat those who threaten the peace and destroy the future of the state.

The Governor further reassured  that his administration continues to work around the clock with security agencies, traditional rulers, religious leaders, and communities to pursue all the enemies of the state with all the resources at our disposal until they face the full weight of the law.

“The government's commitment is matched by the sacrifices of security personnel who stand on the frontlines. It is matched by the vigilance of communities who report criminal activity. It is matched by the resilience of the people who refuse to be broken by fear,” governor Radda revealed.

As Muslims mark the Islamic New Year, Governor Radda invited all Katsina citizens to join in a new resolve. A resolve to reject violence, embrace peace and stand as one people against those who would tear the state apart.

The Governor prayed for Allah’s guidance in these challenging times, adding that all citizens—Muslims and non-Muslims—would find strength in unity to build the future they deserve.
