Katsina State Deputy Governor, Malam Faruk Lawal Jobe, has urged security agencies to strengthen collaboration to improve the protection of communities and enhance security across the state.
Mr Jobe, who represented Governor Dikko Umar Radda at the 2nd North-West Zonal Conference of SDSs 2026, made the call at the Department of State Services (DSS) Command in Katsina State on Thursday.
In his address, the deputy governor highlighted efforts by the Katsina State Government to address insecurity and promote development across various sectors.
He particularly cited the government’s efforts to create employment opportunities for young people, saying the state had made significant progress in providing job opportunities for its citizens.
Mr Jobe also urged security personnel and relevant agencies to maintain close cooperation in tackling security challenges and protecting communities across the state.
He called on members of the media to avoid spreading propaganda and misinformation, stressing the importance of responsible journalism and constructive engagement with security agencies in efforts to maintain peace and stability.
The deputy governor officially declared the conference open and commissioned the newly completed Smart Conference Centre at the Katsina State DSS Command.
The conference brought together security stakeholders and relevant authorities from the North-West to deliberate on strategies for strengthening security and improving cooperation across the region.
