The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Apapa Area Command, has recorded a historic revenue collection of ₦323 billion in July 2026, representing the highest monthly revenue ever generated by the Command.

This was contained in a statement issued on Friday, 14 August 2026, by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Chief Superintendent of Customs, Isah Suleiman, attributing the feat to sustained reforms, improved compliance, operational efficiency and a more stable foreign exchange environment.

The Customs Area Controller (CAC) commended the Comptroller-General of Customs (CGC), Adewale Adeniyi, and the NCS management team for their commitment to the modernisation of the Service, noting that several reforms had streamlined operations and provided clearer direction for personnel. He specifically highlighted the improved performance of the B’Odogwu digital platform, the One-Stop Shop (OSS) initiative and the Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) framework as major contributors to the Command’s revenue growth.

"The AEO framework, which currently has more than 200 beneficiaries has positively impacted the revenue profile of the Command,” he said.

Oshoba also attributed the record performance to the enabling business environment created under the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, particularly the relative stability in the foreign exchange market. According to him, the more predictable forex regime has enabled importers and other business operators to plan better, make informed decisions and conduct legitimate trade with greater confidence.

On stakeholder relations, Oshoba directed officers to maintain professionalism, respect and empathy in their dealings with the business community. He further urged officers to resolve disputes promptly, follow proper documentation procedures and utilise the Post Clearance Audit (PCA) process where further scrutiny of consignments is required.

Beyond the revenue milestone, the CAC commended officers of the command and compliant stakeholders for the feat. He advised them to see the achievement as a stepping stone to further breakthroughs to be achieved as the year 2026 winds down.
