Tompolo Fuels Tinubu’s 2027 Campaign in Katsina, Donates 34 Vehicles to Door-to-Door Movement

Chief Executive Officer of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, has donated 34 campaign vehicles to a grassroots movement mobilising support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in the 2027 presidential election.

The vehicles were presented to coordinators of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement during the official unveiling of the group in Katsina, marking the beginning of its grassroots mobilisation campaign in the North.

Tompolo, who founded and convened the movement, said Katsina was deliberately selected as the first northern state to host the initiative, signalling the importance attached to the state in the campaign to secure support for Tinubu ahead of the 2027 election.

The launch, held at the People’s Square in Katsina, also featured the inauguration of coordinators for the state’s 34 local government areas, with each coordinator receiving a campaign vehicle to facilitate mobilisation activities within their respective areas.

Represented at the event by High Chief Kestin Ebimorbowei Pondi, Tompolo said the relationship between Tinubu and the people of Katsina had been built on trust, confidence and a shared sense of political inclusion.

He charged members of the movement to take the administration’s message directly to the people, urging them to engage residents at the grassroots rather than limit their activities to political gatherings.

According to him, the door-to-door strategy would involve reaching voters in wards, communities, markets and individual households to explain the policies and programmes of the Tinubu administration and strengthen support for his re-election.

The initiative received a boost from Katsina State Governor, Dikko Umar Radda, who reaffirmed the state's commitment to supporting Tinubu's bid for another term in office.

Radda described Katsina as a stronghold of the All Progressives Congress (APC), noting that all elected political office holders in the state belong to the ruling party and that the party's structure remains united across the 34 local government areas.

“Katsina State is an APC state. Every elected person in Katsina State is a member of the All Progressives Congress, and I want to assure you that Katsina State has a special attachment to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” the governor said.

The governor also highlighted what he described as longstanding political ties between Tinubu and Katsina, tracing the relationship to Tinubu’s involvement in the political realignment that preceded the emergence of the late President Muhammadu Buhari in the 2015 presidential election.

Radda commended Tompolo for selecting Katsina as the launchpad for the movement's northern campaign, describing the decision as significant given the historical connections between northern Nigeria and the Niger Delta.

He specifically recalled the Presidential Amnesty Programme initiated under the late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua as one of the major initiatives that reflected the relationship between the two regions.

Also speaking, the Katsina State Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Movement and former Deputy Governor, Tukur Ahmed Jikamshi, described Katsina as a state with a long history of influencing Nigeria's political development.

He said the launch of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement would further strengthen grassroots political engagement as preparations for the 2027 general elections gather momentum.

With the inauguration of the 34 local government coordinators and the deployment of campaign vehicles, the movement has now commenced its grassroots mobilisation drive in Katsina, with organisers expected to take the campaign directly to communities across the state.

The Katsina launch also positions the state as the movement’s first major foothold in northern Nigeria as it seeks to expand its support base ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
