GOVERNMENT HOUSE, KATSINA

PRESS RELEASE

* Commends Youth Empowerment, Community Development Initiatives

* Triple R, Kannywood Have 9,000 Registered Members — Rarara

Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has received members of the Triple R Organisation and Kannywood industry led by Dauda Kahutu Rarara, commending their contributions to youth empowerment, community development and the creative industry.

The meeting was held today at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Lodge, Muhammadu Buhari House, Katsina.

Governor Radda thanked members of Triple R and Kannywood for their support for Rarara and their continued commitment to the development of Katsina State.

“Today, as Governor of Katsina State, I want to thank you for the cooperation and support you are giving to our son, Dauda Kahutu Rarara. Whatever you have done for him, you have also done for us,” he said.

The Governor described Rarara as a son of Katsina who had contributed significantly to political mobilisation and public communication, while commending the establishment of Triple R as an initiative aimed at supporting its members and improving their welfare.

“What you have done through this organisation is very important to society, especially your effort to support your members. There comes a time when people need assistance, particularly in their later years, and this kind of initiative can provide that support,” Governor Radda said.

He said the creative industry remained an important platform for communicating government policies, programmes and development initiatives to citizens, urging members of the organisation to remain united, disciplined and committed to its objectives.

Governor Radda assured the delegation that his administration would continue to support initiatives that promote youth empowerment, community development and improved livelihoods.

The Governor also highlighted the longstanding political relationship between Katsina and the South-West, describing it as a partnership built on mutual respect, cooperation and shared sacrifices in Nigeria’s democratic journey.

He recalled the political contributions of leaders such as the late General Shehu Musa Yar’Adua and the relationships established between Katsina political leaders and prominent figures from the South-West, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“It was in Katsina that one of the most significant democratic movements in Nigeria was nurtured. Under the leadership of our former Governor, Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, the people of Katsina demonstrated an unwavering commitment to national progress,” he said.

Governor Radda noted that Katsina had consistently supported national leaders from different parts of the country, just as leaders from the South-West had supported sons of Katsina, including the late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua and former President Muhammadu Buhari.

He stressed that the relationship between Katsina and the South-West was based on longstanding political understanding and mutual respect, rather than a temporary political arrangement.

The Governor therefore expressed continued support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his administration, urging the people to sustain the longstanding partnership for the progress of Nigeria.

He also recalled the contributions of political leaders, including President Tinubu and former President Olusegun Obasanjo, to Nigeria’s democratic development and the eventual emergence of Umaru Musa Yar’Adua as President.

Governor Radda cautioned against using insecurity and the suffering of communities for political purposes, stressing that leadership should focus on providing solutions and improving the lives of citizens.

He said the Katsina State Government had continued to support communities affected by insecurity through various interventions targeting vulnerable families and affected communities.

Earlier, leader of the Triple R Organisation and Kannywood Group, Dauda Kahutu Rarara, said the large turnout at the meeting reflected the level of support and respect for Governor Radda’s leadership.

Rarara said the organisation initially expected about 360 members at the meeting but recorded approximately 680 people after members learned about the visit.

“Everybody who came here today came because of the leadership of Governor Dikko Radda and the respect they have for his administration,” Rarara said.

He said Triple R was established around three major objectives: supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, supporting Governor Radda and developing the Kannywood industry.

“We came with three major agendas. The first is our support for Mr President; the second is our support for Governor Radda; and the third is the development of our Kannywood industry,” he said.

Rarara disclosed that Triple R and Kannywood had about **9,000 registered members**, comprising stakeholders and professionals across the creative industry and related sectors.

He said the organisation was also designed to support members facing economic difficulties while creating opportunities for training, empowerment and improved livelihoods.

Rarara pledged the continued support of members for the APC and said the organisation would sustain grassroots mobilisation for the party and its leadership.

He also highlighted his efforts to support communities affected by insecurity, explaining that he had adopted a grassroots approach by training people in his community and providing them with necessary equipment.

“I have taken the initiative to train people in my community and provide them with the equipment they need to contribute to the security and development of their communities,” he said.

Rarara commended Governor Radda for establishing the Katsina State Community Watch Corps, describing it as an important intervention in strengthening community-based security.

He appealed to the Governor to support the organisation with vocational workshops, skills acquisition programmes and welfare initiatives for Triple R and Kannywood members.

He also recalled the role of Kannywood entertainers and political musicians in previous election cycles, particularly in political mobilisation and public awareness.

Also speaking, Chairman of Triple R, Lawal Ahmed Bakori, described Katsina as home to members of the organisation and pledged their continued loyalty to the APC.

“Today, I stand before you as your son because Katsina is my home. As you can see, we are members of the APC and remain committed to its ideals and leadership,” Bakori said.

He said Triple R brought together professionals across the creative industry, including producers, marketers, editors, cameramen and other practitioners, to support its members and contribute to the success of the APC.

“From the Governor down to the councillor, we are behind the leadership. We established this organisation under the leadership of Dauda Rarara to support our brothers and contribute everything possible towards the success of the APC from the top to the grassroots,” he said.

Chairman of the Triple R Elders Council, Ado Ahmed Gidan Dabino, described the organisation as a new development in Kannywood aimed at supporting its members and creating better opportunities for younger generations.

“Today, we are introducing the Triple R Organisation to you. In the history of Kannywood, we have not witnessed an organisation of this nature, established through the initiative of our son, Dauda Kahutu Rarara,” he said.

He said the organisation would provide welfare support, assistance and opportunities for members of the creative industry.

On his part, a religious leader within Triple R, Malam Nura Hussain, said the organisation comprised people from different sectors and community groups, including footballers, religious leaders, dancers, security personnel and other stakeholders.

Hussain commended Governor Radda for his efforts in addressing insecurity and his interventions in agriculture, education and other critical sectors.

He also praised Rarara for bringing together stakeholders from the creative industry and other community groups under the Triple R platform.

He urged members to remain disciplined, respectful and supportive of constituted leadership while contributing positively to the development of Katsina State.

Those in attendance included the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Hon. Abdulkadir Mamman Nasir; Principal Private Secretary to the Governor, Hon. Abdullahi Aliyu Turaji; Special Adviser on Political Matters, Hon. Yau Umar Gwajogwajo; Chairman of the APC in Katsina State, Hon. Dr. Bishir Gambo Saulawa; Katsina State APC Public Relation Officer, Shamsu Sule Funtua members of the Katsina State Executive Council; senior government officials; and representatives of the Triple R Organisation and Kannywood industry.
