Governor Dikko Umar Radda has reaffirmed his administration’s resolve to tackle insecurity and restore public confidence by disbursing over N26 million in financial assistance to victims of banditry in Dandume and Bakori Local Government Areas of Katsina State.

The intervention, designed as part of a broader grassroots recovery initiative, was executed through a special committee chaired by Yusuf Ibrahim Safana, Special Adviser on Security and Community Watch. According to Safana, the disbursement followed Governor Radda’s direct instruction to provide assistance and moral support to families and individuals affected by violent attacks.

“This is not just a gesture, it is a demonstration of leadership and empathy from His Excellency,” Safana said. “Families of deceased security operatives received N1 million each, bereaved civilian families received N200,000, kidnap victims were given N100,000, while injured victims got N50,000 after receiving free medical treatment from the state government.”

Other committee members include Sa’idu Ibrahim Danja (Kogunan Jibia), Senior Special Assistant on Victims of Banditry and Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), and Lawal Zubairu, Senior Special Assistant on Palliatives among others.

Safana reiterated Governor Radda’s firm stand on security, stating that the administration is fully mobilized to eliminate banditry and other forms of criminality from the state.
"Governor Radda has made it clear every life matters. No victim will be left behind, and no criminal threat will go unchallenged,” he emphasized.

The financial relief package has earned praise from local government authorities and community leaders. In Dandume, Vice Chairman Bashir Musa, and in Bakori, the Secretary Shehu Mamman, applauded the Governor’s unwavering commitment to the welfare of its citizens.

Also speaking, the member representing Bakori in the Katsina State House of Assembly, Engineer Abdulrahman Kandarawa, lauded the initiative as timely and impactful, pledging continued legislative support for Governor Radda’s development and security agenda.
