Operatives of the Katsina State Police Command successfully thwarted a kidnapping attempt along the Funtua-Gusau Road in Faskari Local Government Area, rescuing five victims after a fierce gun battle with suspected armed bandits.
According to a statement released by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, the incident occurred on May 19 at about 9:37 PM when bandits attacked two vehicles—a Hummer bus (Reg. No. T0510 KN) and a white Mendez truck (Reg. No. LFA 508 YR)—at Unguwar Basau.
