The Katsina State Safety and Road Traffic Authority (KASSAROTA) has reaffirmed its dedication to reducing road accidents and enforcing traffic regulations across the state, as it received a delegation from the Public Complaints Commission (PCC) on a courtesy visit.
The Director General of KASSAROTA, Major Garba Yahaya Rimi (Rtd), made this known while addressing the PCC delegation at the agency’s headquarters. The visit aimed to strengthen mutual understanding between the two institutions and explore possible areas of collaboration.
According to a statement issued by KASSAROTA’s Public Relations Officer, Abubakar Marwana Kofar Sauri, the DG reiterated that the agency operates strictly within the legal framework provided by the Katsina State Government. He emphasized that the authority’s primary mission is not only to enforce traffic laws but also to educate the public and protect lives and property.
“KASSAROTA’s mandate covers all forms of transportation within the state. Anyone who resists or obstructs our officers is acting in violation of the law,” Major Rimi warned.
He added that the agency prioritizes public enlightenment and orderliness, in addition to enforcement duties.
Responding on behalf of the PCC delegation, members of the visiting team praised KASSAROTA for its professionalism, transparency, and well-structured operations. They expressed satisfaction with the agency’s commitment to its responsibilities.
The engagement also featured discussions on strategic areas for collaboration, particularly in the areas of public compliance, institutional accountability, and service delivery.
The visit is seen as a significant step toward enhancing inter-agency cooperation and improving governance and safety standards across Katsina State.
