The Katsina State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education has officially inaugurated new members of the Governing Board of the Katsina State Agency for Mass Education. The inauguration ceremony was held on Friday, 11 July 2025, at the ministry’s main conference hall in Katsina.
Presiding over the event, the Honourable Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Hajiya Zainab Abdullahi Musawa, congratulated the newly appointed members and commended Governor Malam Dikko Umar Radda for prioritising reforms in the education sector.
She noted that the appointments were made based on merit, competence, and a strong record of service, urging the new board to adopt a collaborative and reform-driven approach in revitalising adult and non-formal education in the state.
“Your nomination is a recognition of your service and dedication to the development of education,” Hajiya Musawa stated. “You are expected to bring your experience and integrity to bear in leading the agency towards impactful reforms.”
In his goodwill message, the Executive Director of the Katsina State Agency for Mass Education expressed appreciation to Governor Radda for his continued support and visionary leadership. He also praised the Commissioner for her strategic guidance and commitment to expanding access to inclusive and quality education across the state.
“To the newly inaugurated board members, I extend my heartfelt congratulations. This is a call to serve,” the Executive Director said. “I pray Almighty Allah grants you wisdom and sincerity in carrying out your duties. You have my full support and that of the agency’s staff as we work together to achieve great milestones.”
The newly inaugurated board is expected to play a pivotal role in shaping policies, guiding reforms, and ensuring improved delivery of mass education programmes across Katsina State.
Dr. Aisha Ladan was formally announced as Chairperson of the Board, with other members sworn in including Adamu Sule (Jibiya), Nazifi Abdulkadir (Batagarawa), Hajiya Saratu Ibrahim (Danja), and Sani Maibara (Baure).
The event was attended by several high-ranking government officials, including the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Hajiya Ummul-Khairi Bawa, the Executive Secretary of the Katsina State Science and Technical Education Board, Professor Kabir Ibrahim Matazu, and other dignitaries.
