The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that bye-elections will be held in 16 federal constituencies, state constituencies, and senatorial districts across 12 states of the federation.

According to a statement by the Commission, the elections are scheduled to take place on Saturday, August 16, 2025, beginning at 8:30 a.m. at designated polling units within the affected constituencies.

INEC emphasized that only voters whose names appear on the Register of Voters and who possess valid Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) will be allowed to participate in the exercise. Additionally, voting will be restricted to the polling units where voters are registered.
