Chairman Miqdad reaffirms commitment to youth education at KSITM

The Executive Chairman of Katsina Local Government, Hon. Isah Miqdad AD Saude, has awarded full scholarships to 96 students for studies at the Katsina State Institute of Technology and Management (KSITM), reinforcing his administration’s commitment to youth empowerment through education.

The scholarship launch took place on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at the KSITM auditorium, alongside the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the council and the institute.

Describing the scheme as a milestone, Hon. Miqdad said:

“This full scholarship reflects our belief that education is the key to progress. By investing in our youth, we’re building the future of Katsina and Nigeria.”

He encouraged the recipients to embrace the opportunity with focus and determination, adding that the support of parents and guardians remains crucial in their academic journey.

Representing the Commissioner for Higher, Technical, and Vocational Education, Alhaji Muhammad Isah Musa, at the event, Dikko Bala Kofar Sauri commended the initiative as a model for impactful governance.

“This scholarship will transform lives and uplift the wider community,” Bala said, praising Governor Dikko Radda’s efforts to raise educational standards and crack down on unaccredited institutions.

He lauded Chairman Miqdad’s leadership, calling education the most valuable legacy any leader can offer.

“This effort should inspire other councils to prioritize education,” he added, urging beneficiaries to remain committed to their studies.

Other dignitaries at the event included Hon. Aliyu Abubakar Albaba, Katsina APC Chairman; KSITM Rector; former Special Adviser to Governor Masari, Hon. Tanimu Sada; parents, and students.

The event underscores growing collaboration between local government and educational institutions aimed at broadening access to quality education and preparing future leaders.
