FRSC Orders Probe Into Clash Between Officers And Driver In Edo

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has ordered an immediate investigation into a viral video showing an altercation between some of its officers and a driver along Abudu in Edo State.

The incident, which occurred on Saturday, October 25, 2025, has attracted widespread attention on social media.

In a statement on Sunday, the Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, expressed concern over the development, describing it as unacceptable. He said the Corps does not condone any form of unprofessional conduct capable of undermining its integrity and discipline.

Mohammed directed that a full investigation be carried out to determine the circumstances surrounding the confrontation, adding that any officer found guilty would face appropriate disciplinary action in line with the FRSC’s operational guidelines and public service rules.

He urged members of the public to remain calm and continue to cooperate with FRSC personnel who are committed to ensuring safer roads and protecting lives across the country.

The Corps Marshal also cautioned the public against assaulting officers in the course of duty, stressing that the Corps would not tolerate violence against its personnel.

The statement was signed by Assistant Corps Marshal Olusegun Ogungbemide, the Corps Public Education Officer, at the FRSC Headquarters in Abuja.
