Kaita Local Government Area of Katsina State has completed and is finalising a series of development projects worth more than N700 million across 10 wards, aimed at improving living conditions, particularly in rural communities.
The Chairman of the council, Engr. Bello Lawal Yandaki, disclosed this on Tuesday, 25 November 2025, after inspecting ongoing and completed projects in various locations.
The projects include the rehabilitation of healthcare centres, construction and repair of schools, drainage works, provision of rural roads, culverts, and other essential infrastructure.
The benefiting wards include Abdallawa, Ba’awa, Dankaba, Dankama, Gafia, Girka, Kaita, Yandaki, and Yanhoho.
Engr. Bello said each of the ten wards received no fewer than three impactful projects, noting that the new policy granting financial autonomy to local governments has enabled them to undertake people-oriented projects directly.
He commended the Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, for the support extended to local governments, which he said has enhanced service delivery at the grassroots.
Community leaders such as the Sarkin Fulani of Dankama and the Sarkin Fawa of Dankama also expressed satisfaction with the projects executed in their areas.
The chairman was accompanied on the inspection tour by the Vice Chairman of Kaita LGA, Hon. Rabilu Dankama; the Council Secretary, Alhaji Nasiru Girka; the Head of Finance and Administration, Alhaji Mukhtar Aminu Bakori; directors, councillors, and other stakeholders.
