Hon. Zaharaddeen Babba Mazoji Waziri Matazu has called on Governor Dr. Malam Umar Dikko Radda to investigate allegations of mismanagement of empowerment programs by some Local Government Chairmen in Katsina State.
The call is made to ensure transparency and accountability in governance, verifying the allocation and utilization of funds meant for these initiatives.
We urge His Excellency, Dr. Malam Umar Dikko Radda, to direct the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), and the State Anti-Corruption Unit to probe the matter," Hon. Zaharaddeen Babba Mazoji Waziri Matazu said.
According to Mazoji Waziri Matazu, some empowerment items distributed during the Governor's visit to certain local governments were not given to the intended beneficiaries after he left. The statement praised some local governments for their excellent work, while expressing concerns that others may have compromised the efforts, potentially impacting the upcoming election.
The Governor himself can testify to what he has seen and what people have told him. Some have done excellently, while others have done poorly," Mazoji Waziri Matazu said.
Mazoji Waziri Matazu advised the Governor to maintain his no-nonsense stance, ensuring that the chairmen and other officials serve the people of Katsina State with integrity and transparency.
