Philanthropist, frontline politician, businessman and large-scale farmer, Hon. Hamza Sule Faskari, has distributed Ramadan assistance to various groups that include orphans, widows, IDPs, politicians, youths groups, community development associations and less privileged persons across the 11 local government areas of Funtua Zone in Katsina State.
The food items worth N60 million include 400 bags of rice, 500 bags of millet and 300 bags of maize as well as cash assistance of N62 million to various beneficiaries to enable them to have a smooth Ramadan fast.
Hamza Sule who holds the titles of Wamban Faskari and Sadaukin Kasar Hausa is also the Commissioner of Environment in Katsina State where he has been commended for his efforts towards actualizing the Dikko Radda administration's laudable plans in the sector.
At the event which was held in Faskari town and attended by thousands of beneficiaries, wellwishers, politicians and youth groups, Hon. Hamza Sule said the gesture was meant to provide succour to the beneficiaries in the holy month of Ramadan.
He used the occasion to call on the people to increase their devotion, acts of worship and sustained prayers for peace and prosperity, and to pray for leaders at all levels to succeed in bringing about sustainable development in the state.
In his remarks, the Deputy APC Chairman in Katsina State, Hon. Bala Abu Musawa said Hamza Sule is one of the most committed party Chieftains who regularly contributes towards the welfare of party members in the state.
He recalled that Hamza Sule provides assistance to party members and less privileged persons every Ramadan and during special occasions which increases party loyalty and contributes to the success of APC in the state.
Traditional leaders, Imams, and well-wishers who spoke at the occasion the occasion commended Hon. Hamza Sule for the gesture while urging other politicians and businessmen to emulate the gesture.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of Faskari local government, Alh. Surajo Aliyu Daudawa said the local government will pay the electricity bills for residents for a period of one year in order to reduce their day-to-day expenditure.
