NPC CHAIRMAN ATTENDS NEDI NATIONAL STAKEHOLDERS MEETING

The Chairman of the National Population Commission, Dr. Aminu Yusuf, today, 14th May 2026, joined other key stakeholders at the Nigeria Educational Data Infrastructure (NEDI) National Stakeholders’ Meeting, held at the Abuja Continental Hotel.

The event, themed “Transforming Education Through Data,” was organized by the Federal Ministry of Education to advance the role of data-driven decision-making in Nigeria’s education sector. NEDI envisions a future where stakeholders across the education ecosystem are empowered with reliable, accessible, and actionable data to inform policy and improve learning outcomes.

The meeting brought together distinguished personalities from government and development institutions, including: Barr. Ifeanyi Ossai, Deputy Governor of Enugu State; Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, Honourable Minister of Education; Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, Honourable Minister of Interior; Hajia Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, Honourable Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development; Brigadier General Olakunle Oluseye Nafiu, Director-General, National Youth Service Corps (NYSC); Dr. Abubakar Isah, NEDI Coordinator, among other dignitaries and senior government officials.  

The NPC Chairman was accompanied by the Acting Director-General of the Commission, Dr. Nnamdi Maduekwe and several directors. 

The gathering provided an opportunity to formally introduce the NEDI platform to national stakeholders. Discussions focused on establishing shared priorities for implementation across all states, committing to a coordinated framework for data governance, institutional collaboration, and partnership strengthening between federal, state, and development actors.
