The Special Adviser on Political Matters to the Katsina State Governor, Alh Ya'u Umar Gwajo-Gwajo, has warned aspirants vying for local government chairmanship and councillorship seats to avoid claiming that they are the annointed candidates of the state governor, Malam Dikko Radda.

Gwajo-Gwajo said that they have received reports that some candidates vying for chairmanship and councillorship seats are claiming that they are the sole candidates that were sent by the governor to contest the chairman and councillorship seats

The Political Adviser to Governor Radda clarified that the governor has given a level playing field for all candidates who are interested in contesting the chairmanship and councillorship seats across the 34 local government areas of the state, and would not tolerate a situation where some aspirants will be discouraged from contesting.

He noted that Governor Dikko Umar Radda is a person who respects democracy and the rule of law which recognizes the right of every citizen to contest for any office as provided for in the constitution.

He urged the people of the state to ignore claims by any politician that he was sent by the governor to contest bin the forthcoming Local Government elections in the state which is scheduled to hold next year.
