* Stakeholders Commend Radda’s Projects, Pledge Continued Cooperation

Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has disclosed that his administration is revitalising the Governor’s Lodge in Daura to provide suitable accommodation during official visits and strengthen government presence and engagement with the community.

The governor stated this yesterday while receiving a delegation of Daura stakeholders, political leaders, business community leaders and youth groups, led by the Chairman of Daura Local Government Stakeholders, Alhaji Lawal Nalado, at Government House, Katsina.

“Katsina State cannot be complete without Daura. That is why, whenever we undertake development projects across the state, we ensure that Daura receives the attention it deserves. Our commitment is to ensure that development reaches every part of the state,” Radda said.

The governor recalled his longstanding relationship with the people of Daura, dating back to the beginning of his political journey, and appreciated their continued cooperation and support.

Radda highlighted key projects citing the Daura Western Bypass, ongoing urban road construction and rehabilitation, the modern grain market and the upgrading of Daura General Hospital as evidence of his administration’s commitment to infrastructure development and improved service delivery.

He also acknowledged the strategic importance of the University of Transportation established by the late former President Muhammadu Buhari, Daura Polytechnic and the Air Force Base, noting their contributions to education, transportation, security and economic development.

The governor further highlighted the Dumurkul Model Smart Schools initiative serving the Daura zone, stressing that modern educational facilities were essential to improving learning outcomes and preparing young people for future opportunities.

“My relationship with the people of Daura has always been cordial, built on mutual understanding and respect. We will continue to work together to advance the development of our communities,” he said.

On the forthcoming 2027 general elections, Radda urged APC stakeholders to sustain their unity and mobilisation efforts to secure the party’s success, recalling its political achievements during the tenure of the late President Muhammadu Buhari.

The governor urged political stakeholders to remain organised and committed to peaceful political engagement, noting that the forthcoming elections would attract considerable national attention.

Radda assured the delegation that the concerns and requests presented during the visit would receive his attention and be considered in line with his administration’s priorities and available resources.

Earlier, Chairman of Daura Local Government Stakeholders, Alhaji Lawal Nalado, said the delegation comprised representatives of different groups who came to appreciate the governor’s development efforts and reaffirm their support for his administration.

“We came to meet the governor personally, express our appreciation and assure him that the people of Daura remain committed to working with him and supporting efforts aimed at developing our communities,” Nalado said.

He commended the governor for ongoing urban road construction and rehabilitation, particularly routes linking the town centre to the School of Nursing and Midwifery and surrounding communities.

Nalado also praised the Daura Western Bypass for improving connectivity and facilitating journeys towards Mai’Adua and the Niger Republic.

He described the modern grain market, equipped with lock-up shops, storage facilities, a police station and a health clinic, as an important investment that would strengthen commercial activities, security and access to essential services.

While acknowledging that some community needs remained outstanding, the stakeholders’ chairman expressed confidence in the administration’s continued commitment to addressing them. He thanked the governor for his attention to Daura and prayed for the successful implementation of development projects across the area.

Those in attendance included Deputy Governor, Hon. Faruk Lawal Jobe; Speaker of the Katsina State House of Assembly, Hon. Nasir Yahaya Daura; Principal Private Secretary, Hon. Abdullahi Aliyu Turaji; members of the Katsina State Executive Council; and traditional leaders from Daura.
