Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has recalled the poor infrastructure and difficult living conditions he encountered in Dabai during his previous election campaign in 2023, highlighting his administration's interventions in road construction, grassroots development and traditional institutions.

The Governor spoke during a courtesy visit to the District Head of Dabai, Alhaji Gambo Abdullahi (Dausayin Katsina), ahead of the Tinubu–Dikko 2027 campaign rally in Danja Local Government Area.

Radda recalled that his first visit to the community as a governorship candidate exposed the infrastructure challenges facing residents, particularly along the road from Chinchirondo to the district head's palace.

"During our first visit to Dabai as candidates, we saw the difficult conditions under which people were living. We understood that the concerns of ordinary citizens, particularly young people, deserved serious attention," he said.

The Governor explained that his administration had since taken steps to fulfil its campaign commitments through infrastructure development, local government reforms and improved support for traditional institutions.

He cited the introduction of regular allowances for district and village heads, alongside financial assistance to traditional institutions, as part of measures to strengthen grassroots administration.

On security, Radda acknowledged the contributions of security agencies, traditional rulers and community leaders, noting that their cooperation remained important to the government's efforts to protect lives and property.

He reaffirmed his administration's commitment to security, agriculture, livestock development and commerce, describing the sectors as central to improving livelihoods and expanding economic opportunities.

The Governor urged traditional rulers to continue offering guidance and communicating the needs of their communities to the government.

Earlier, the District Head of Dabai, Alhaji Gambo Abdullahi, commended Governor Radda for responding to longstanding infrastructure and development needs in the area.

He particularly praised the construction of the Danja–Dabai Road, describing it as a major intervention that had improved access and connectivity for residents.

The traditional ruler also welcomed the administration's Community Development Programme (CDP), under which ₦10 million was allocated to each of the state's 361 wards for community-selected development projects.

He said arrangements had been made at the community level to ensure proper coordination and fair utilisation of the funds.

"We appreciate the resources provided to support development in our wards. We are committed to ensuring that the funds are properly managed and used for the benefit of our communities," he said.

Alhaji Gambo, however, appealed to the Governor to facilitate the completion of the proposed tomato processing factory in Dabai.

He explained that the facility would support tomato farmers and traders, create employment opportunities and strengthen agricultural processing in the area.

The District Head assured the Governor of the continued cooperation of traditional leaders and residents in advancing development across the district.

Also speaking, the Chairman of Danja Local Government Area, Hon. Rabo Tambaya, welcomed the Governor and his entourage, commending the administration's attention to the development needs of Dabai and surrounding communities.

He assured the Governor of the local government's continued cooperation with the state administration.

The Governor was joined on the visit by the Deputy Governor, Malam Faruk Lawal; Director-General of the Tinubu–Dikko Campaign Council, Arch. Ahmed Musa Dangiwa; Dr. Mustapha Muhammad Inuwa; APC State Chairman, Dr. Bishir Gambo Saulawa; Hon. Abdulkadir Mamman Nasir; Hon. Abdullahi Aliyu Turaji; and other government officials, campaign council members and political stakeholders.
