Governor Radda: We Are Taking Development to Every Rural Community in Katsina

"No administration since 1987 has developed rural Katsina like Radda" - Galadiman Katsina Reveals

Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has reaffirmed his administration's commitment to taking development to every rural community across Katsina State, through sustained investments in education, infrastructure, youth empowerment and support for traditional institutions.

Governor Radda made the remarks during his visit to the Galadiman Katsina and District Head of Malumfashi, Justice Sadiq Abdullahi Mahuta (Rtd), at his palace in Malumfashi Local Government Area, ahead of the Tinubu-Dikko 2027 campaign rally.

The Governor, who also serves as State Coordinator of the President Tinubu 2027 Campaign Council, said the visit was to convey the goodwill message of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima to the people of Katsina State, particularly residents of Malumfashi.

Paying tribute to Justice Mahuta, Governor Radda described him as a distinguished personality whose intellect, experience and wisdom have contributed immensely to the development and judicial history of the state. He recalled the legacy of the late Justice Mamman Nasir, former President of the Court of Appeal, and acknowledged Justice Mahuta's service as a former Chief Judge of Katsina State.

On development interventions, the Governor said his administration has made significant investments in education and infrastructure through the renovation of schools, construction of educational facilities, and recruitment of qualified teachers and medical personnel.

He also highlighted the establishment of a branch of the Katsina Youth Craft Village in Malumfashi, saying the initiative will provide young people with practical vocational training and opportunities to acquire employable skills.

Governor Radda appreciated the people for their warm reception, noting that the large turnout of residents who lined the streets to welcome his delegation was encouraging. He prayed for sustained peace, security and development across Malumfashi and the state.

During the visit, Governor Radda also distributed 12 motorcycles, provided by the Chairman of Malumfashi Local Government Area, to heads of the local government's 12 wards to ease transportation and enable them to discharge their community responsibilities more effectively.

Earlier, the Galadiman Katsina commended the Governor for extending development interventions to rural communities and strengthening traditional institutions.

"Since the creation of Katsina State in 1987, I have not witnessed any administration that has extended development to rural communities in the manner this administration is doing," he observed.

He recalled that Governor Radda increased the monthly subvention to traditional institutions from N200,000 to N700,000 following requests by traditional rulers. He also acknowledged the provision of brand-new official vehicles to District Heads across the state.

"Following our appeal over the transportation challenges facing District Heads, Your Excellency directed the relevant government officials to ensure that every District Head in Katsina State received a brand-new official vehicle. Today, this commitment has been fulfilled," he said.

Justice Mahuta also commended the Governor for empowering local governments and approving the comprehensive rehabilitation of the Malumfashi District Office. He further acknowledged the approval of additional local government and district areas to bring governance closer to the people.

He assured the Governor of the continued prayers, cooperation and support of traditional institutions and the people of Malumfashi.

Also speaking, the Chairman of Malumfashi Local Government Area, Hon. Muntari Abdullahi City, appreciated Governor Radda for paying homage to the Galadiman Katsina and other traditional leaders. He reaffirmed the local government's commitment to implementing the policies and programmes of the state administration.

During the visit, Governor Radda expressed condolences to the people of Dan Sara'i community over the recent tragic incident that claimed lives, praying that Almighty Allah grants the deceased eternal rest and protects communities against similar occurrences.

Deputy Governor, Malam Faruk Lawal Jobe; former Governor of Katsina State, Alhaji Sa'idu Balarabe Musa; former Secretary to the State Government and Campaign Council Co-Chairman, Dr. Mustapha Muhammad Inuwa; Director-General of the Tinubu-Dikko 2027 Campaign Council, Arch.
