Radda Commends Katsina Residents After Nine-Day Statewide Tour

Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has lauded residents across the 34 local government areas for what he described as an unprecedented show of support during his nine-day statewide tour.

The tour, which covered every local government in the state, enabled the governor to interact directly with communities, inspect infrastructure projects, and assess ongoing empowerment initiatives implemented by local government chairmen.

Radda said the massive turnout of residents at each stop demonstrated a strong collective commitment to the state’s development agenda. He noted that the engagements provided firsthand insights into community needs, adding that the tour strengthened the bond between government and citizens.

He also acknowledged the role of traditional rulers in facilitating peaceful and coordinated engagements throughout the visit, describing them as stabilising forces whose cooperation contributed significantly to the success of the tour.

Security agencies, particularly the Community Watch Corps, were commended for maintaining order and demonstrating visible presence across the councils. The governor said their efforts showcased a deep commitment to safeguarding lives and property.

Radda further noted that the empowerment activities carried out by local government chairmen during the tour highlighted the positive impact of local government autonomy. Items such as motorcycles, grinding machines, fertilizers, livestock, and cash assistance were distributed to beneficiaries, a development he described as evidence that autonomy is delivering tangible benefits at the grassroots.

He also inspected projects under the Community Development Programme, an initiative designed to strengthen community ownership and participation in local development.

The governor assured residents that feedback received during the tour would inform government decisions and programmes in the coming months. He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to equitable development across all zones and communities in the state.

Radda prayed for continued peace and progress in Katsina State.
