Katsina Governor urges appointees to uphold integrity, deliver on national mandate

Governor Dikko Umaru Radda of Katsina State has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing four indigenes of the state into key federal positions, describing the development as a recognition of merit, competence and service to the nation.

In a statement issued on Thursday by his Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, the governor congratulated the appointees and expressed confidence in their capacity to justify the trust reposed in them.

Among those recognised is Professor Idris M. Bugaje, who has been reappointed as Executive Secretary of the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) for a second five-year term from 2026 to 2031. Radda described Bugaje as an accomplished academic and administrator whose previous tenure saw significant reforms in technical and vocational education, including improved accreditation processes and stronger collaboration between institutions and industry.

The governor also congratulated Engr. (Dr.) Sule Ahmed Abdulaziz on his reappointment as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN). He noted that Abdulaziz’s engineering expertise and leadership would be critical to advancing Nigeria’s power transmission infrastructure.

Similarly, Radda hailed the appointment of Senator Ibrahim Ida, the Wazirin Katsina, as Chairman of the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), citing his legislative experience and knowledge of governance as key assets for strengthening corporate regulation and improving the business environment.

Professor Sadiq Isah Radda was also commended on his appointment as Federal Commissioner at the National Population Commission. The governor said his academic and administrative background positions him well to contribute to the country’s population data management and national planning.

While appreciating President Tinubu for the appointments, Radda urged the appointees to remain committed to transparency, integrity and national service.

“Katsina is proud of you. Serve Nigeria with integrity and let your work reflect positively on the state,” the governor said.

He reaffirmed the support of the Katsina State Government and its people, wishing the appointees success in their respective roles.
