Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State has approved a ₦32,000 monthly pension increment for all pensioners in the state.
The increment, which is in addition to the existing monthly pensions currently being paid, will benefit both State and Local Government pensioners across Zamfara State.
The Governor has directed the Accountant General of the state to immediately implement increase of the ₦32,000 monthly to all eligible pensioners.
A statement issued yesterday by the Commissioner for Information and Culture, Alhaji Muhammad Mahmud Dantawasa indicates that the approval was another clear demonstration of the Rescue Mission Administration's commitment to the improvement of the welfare of senior citizens and ensuring that retired public servants who devoted their productive years to the service of Zamfara State received the support and dignity they deserved.
According to him, Governor Dauda Lawal remains committed to implementing people-oriented policies aimed at cushioning the effects of prevailing economic challenges, while fulfilling his administration's obligations to workers, pensioners, and all citizens of the state.
The Commissioner assured pensioners that their welfare would continue to be prioritized through policies and programmes meant to improve their standard of living.
