NPC, NAFDAC Strengthen Ties to Boost Public Health, Population Data Synergy

The Chairman of the National Population Commission (NPC), Hon. Nasir Isa Kwarra, on Thursday, 5th June 2025, paid a courtesy visit to the Director-General of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), Prof. Moji Adeyeye, at the agency’s headquarters in Abuja.

Accompanied by the NPC Director-General, Dr. Osifo Tellson Ojogun, the visit was aimed at fostering stronger collaboration between the two government bodies, particularly in areas of joint research and data sharing for effective population and public health management.

In his remarks, Hon. Kwarra stressed the significance of strategic partnerships between agencies, noting that closer synergy between NPC and NAFDAC would help tackle national health challenges and enhance citizens’ well-being.

Responding, Prof. Adeyeye welcomed the initiative, pledging NAFDAC’s commitment to promoting inter-agency cooperation. She underscored the importance of reliable data in shaping national health policies and called for a unified approach to addressing issues such as food safety and public health.

The engagement reaffirms the resolve of both institutions to deepen collaboration in advancing the nation's health and development agenda.
