The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced the full restoration of bulk electricity supply to the North East following the successful energizing of the new Bauchi 330/132kV Transmission Substation.

The company said in a statement on Sunday that the substation was connected to the national grid through the 330kV and 132kV Jos–Bauchi–Gombe transmission lines, which were temporarily switched off to allow for the integration process.

According to TCN’s General Manager of Public Affairs, Ndidi Mbah, the reconnection of the transmission lines to the grid has restored electricity to the region since 4:45 p.m. on June 19.

“This marks the completion of one of the region’s largest substations, significantly improving the stability and reliability of power supply,” the statement noted.

With the project completed, bulk electricity supply has resumed to the Jos and Yola Electricity Distribution Companies, which serve customers in Bauchi, Gombe, Yobe, Adamawa, Taraba, and parts of Borno States.

TCN said the new connection enhances transmission efficiency, diversifies supply routes, and strengthens emergency response capacity in the North East.

The company thanked residents and electricity consumers for their patience during the outage.
