The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), Katsina State Office, has sought closer collaboration with the Katsina Local Government Council to improve access to legal aid and promote human rights within the community.

The State Coordinator of the Commission, Barrister Adamu Ummaru Kasim, led a delegation on a courtesy visit to the Executive Chairman of Katsina Local Government, Hon. Isah Miqdad AD Saude, to discuss areas of cooperation.

Barr. Kasim noted that the visit was aimed at fostering a working relationship that would ensure effective human rights advocacy and legal support for residents. He appealed for the Council’s assistance in equipping the Commission’s newly established office in Katsina with basic facilities to enhance its efficiency and service delivery.

In his remarks, Hon. Isah Miqdad AD Saude applauded the Commission’s dedication to safeguarding human rights and reiterated the Council’s commitment to supporting its activities. He pledged to collaborate closely with the NHRC and offer the needed support to help the Commission fulfil its mandate, particularly in its operations within the local government area.

The visit underscores ongoing efforts to strengthen institutional partnerships for the promotion of justice and human rights in Katsina State.
