Governor Dikko Umaru Radda today inspected the 35-year-old Jumu’ah Mosque located at Sabon Layi along Dutsinma Road in Kankia, as part of efforts to assess the condition of key religious centres across the state.

The mosque, which has long served as a vital centre for worship and community activities, is reportedly in a deteriorating condition. During the inspection, Governor Radda expressed concern over its current state and emphasized the need for urgent rehabilitation to restore its structure and functionality.

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting religious institutions and ensuring that citizens have access to safe and dignified spaces for worship.

According to the governor, the planned renovation will not only preserve the historic mosque but also strengthen the spiritual and social life of the Kankia community.
