The Advisory Committee of Dr. Haruna Maiwada, the House of Representatives candidate for Katsina 1 Constituency, has dismissed reports alleging that he plans to defect to another political party.
In a statement issued by the Committee Chairman, Mallam Ayuba Umar Gambarawa, the claim was described as false, baseless, and a deliberate act of political mischief aimed at misleading the public and creating unnecessary distraction.
The committee maintained that at no point has Dr. Maiwada considered leaving the All Progressives Congress (APC), stressing that he remains a committed member of the party alongside his supporters and campaign structures.
It further reaffirmed the candidate’s loyalty to the Governor of Katsina State, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, noting that their allegiance to the party leadership remains firm and unwavering.
The committee called on the public, party supporters, and stakeholders to disregard the rumour, describing it as a fabrication intended to cause confusion and disrupt political stability.
