KATSINA STATE POLICE COMMAND DIARY.
The Katsina State Police Command under the leadership of CP Ali Umar Fage, psc(+), mnips, has succeeded in foiling a cattle rustling attempt by bandits and recovered 40 cows in Dutsin-Ma LGA, Katsina State.
On May 9, 2026, at about 0033 hrs, operatives attached to Dutsinma Division while on routine patrol received a distress call from Karki via Gago Village regarding the movement of heavily armed bandits with a large number of suspected rustled cattle. The patrol team responded swiftly and intercepted the criminals.
On sighting the police, the bandits engaged the team in a gun duel. Through superior tactics and firepower, the hoodlums were overpowered and forced to abandon the rustled livestock and flee the scene with gunshot wounds.
The area was immediately cordoned off, and a search and recovery operation was conducted. A total of forty (40) cows were successfully recovered as efforts are being sustained to apprehend the fleeing suspects and prevent further attacks in the area.
