KTDMB DG, Mustafa Shehu, Awards 142 Scholarships to Katsina Students at KSITM

The Director-General of the Katsina State Development Management Board, Mallam Mustafa Shehu (Ph.D), has awarded 142 scholarships to students from Katsina Local Government Area to study National Diploma at the Katsina State Institute of Technology and Management (KSITM), Katsina.

The scholarships cover 100 percent registration fees for two years as well as final year project. The gesture is Mallam Mustapha’s contubution to the Education Cannot Wait initiative, to compliment the Radda administration's goal of providing access to tertiary education for all eligible Katsina State students.

The students are from Wakilin Gabas 1 ward, while the second batch will be from other zones of Katsina Local Government Area.

The students will also be sponsored to acquire life skills including trade and artisanship to empower them to become self-reliant. 

The trades include Plastic Interlock making (i.e. how to make interlocks using plastic and sand), welding and fabrication and Software Development. 

The intervention will cover the two years during which the 142 students will complete their National Diploma (ND) program. 

Mallam Mustafa Shehu urged other wealthy indigenes of Katsina State to also contribute their quota towards increasing the number of educated people in the state because as education is an indispensable pillar in the development of any society.
