Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has said his administration strengthened community security in Faskari through security outposts in vulnerable communities and support for local security groups and victims of insecurity.

Radda disclosed this during a visit to the palace of the District Head of Faskari, Sarkin Yamman Katsina, as part of his Tinubu-Dikko 2027 campaign engagements with traditional rulers and community stakeholders.

"Security outposts had been established in vulnerable communities, while assistance had also been extended to local security groups and victims of insecurity to strengthen community protection," he said.

He noted that the government had consistently supported security agencies, vigilantes and community-based security groups over the past three years.

"By the grace of Allah, we are witnessing a significant reduction in insecurity across many communities. Although some challenges remain, our administration is doing everything possible to address them," Radda observed.

The Governor acknowledged the prayers and support of traditional rulers during his political journey, describing their contributions as important to his emergence as Governor.

"When we first came here, we sought your blessings, prayers and encouragement, and you gave them to us. By Allah's grace, we secured the mandate to govern Katsina State," he said.

Radda explained that his administration's development agenda covered security, social welfare, infrastructure and grassroots participation.

He said traditional institutions had received support through vehicles, allowances and other interventions, while the Community Development Programme (CDP) enabled community leaders, local chiefs and Islamic scholars to identify and prioritise development needs.

The Governor stressed that his administration remained committed to fairness and addressing the needs of traditional institutions, youths, women and other segments of society.

He also recalled his inspection of Faskari General Hospital, interaction with healthcare workers and visit to the local government offices.

Radda sought the continued prayers and support of traditional rulers and stakeholders in his capacity as Coordinator of the campaign for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He also solicited support for the candidates of the Tinubu-Dikko campaign at the senatorial, federal constituency and Faskari State Assembly levels.

Earlier, the District Head of Faskari, Alhaji Tukur Sa'idu, Sarkin Yamman Katsina, appreciated the Governor for his repeated visits and interventions, particularly in addressing the area's security and development challenges.

"On behalf of the people of Faskari, both within and outside the community, we sincerely appreciate Your Excellency and your entire administration for all the interventions and support extended to us," he said.

The traditional ruler disclosed that approximately 80 per cent or more of the requests submitted to the Governor had been addressed, noting that the government had also provided relief materials in response to the community's security challenges.

He commended the completion and commissioning of Faskari General Hospital, the rehabilitation of the water facility and improved water supply across parts of the town.

The District Head also appreciated the Sheme–Zamfara border road and other road projects, alongside interventions in education, infrastructure and community development.

However, he appealed for the construction of the Faskari–Yankara–Dan Marke–Dogon Awo–Bilbis road and the establishment of a tertiary educational institution in the area.

He further called for sustained security interventions, including continued support for the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) and other community-based security arrangements.

Also speaking, the Chairman of Faskari Local Government, Hon. Surajo Aliyu, thanked the Governor for visiting the palace and acknowledged the traditional institution's role in supporting the administration's development efforts.

He commended the District Head for promoting peaceful coexistence between Hausa and Fulani communities and contributing to unity, community security and lasting peace.

The Chairman noted that the traditional ruler remained an important source of guidance in strengthening relationships among communities and promoting security across Faskari and the state.
