April 14, 2026 (Katsina Times) –
The Katsina State House of Assembly has approved a N1 billion contribution to the Regional Security Trust Fund to enhance security across northern Nigeria.
The approval followed the consideration of a request by Governor Dikko Umaru Radda, who sought legislative consent in line with constitutional provisions.
Speaker Nasir Yahaya-Daura announced the resolution after the Majority Leader, Shamsudden Abubakar Dabai, read the governor’s correspondence on the floor of the House.
According to the proposal, the Katsina State Government will contribute N300 million, while the 34 local government councils in the state will provide the remaining N700 million.
After deliberations, the lawmakers unanimously approved the request and directed the Clerk of the House to transmit the resolution to the executive arm for implementation.
In a related development, the Assembly called for urgent intervention to address erosion along the Eka–Kadandani–Kuraye–Yargamji road.
The member representing Charanci Constituency, Lawal Isah-Kuraye, noted that the road was constructed in 2017 during the administration of former Governor Aminu Bello Masari.
