The Road Safety Officers’ Wives Association (ROSOWA), Katsina Chapter, has paid a humanitarian visit to road traffic crash victims receiving treatment at the Federal Teaching Hospital, Katsina (FTHK), as part of activities marking the 2025 World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Crash Victims.

The outreach, organised in collaboration with the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) RS1.3 Katsina Sector Command, was conducted on 15 November 2025 and brought together regular marshals, Special Marshals and members of the NYSC Road Safety Club.

The ROSOWA delegation was led by the Chairperson, Mrs. Hadiza Maxwell Kaltungo Lede, represented by Mrs. Aisha Yakubu Idris. During the visit, the group offered prayers for the repose of victims who lost their lives in road crashes and expressed sympathy to families currently burdened by grief. The team also extended emotional support to patients still recovering from injuries.

As part of the outreach, the association presented assorted relief items to the hospital management for distribution to patients across the facility.

Receiving the delegation, the Acting Chairman, Medical Advisory Committee (CMAC) of the hospital, Dr. Muttaka Maude, commended ROSOWA and the FRSC for the gesture, describing it as a valuable contribution to public welfare. He noted that such visits help boost the morale and psychological wellbeing of victims, thereby supporting their recovery.

In her remarks, the ROSOWA Chairperson called on individuals, organisations and the general public to consistently support crash victims, many of whom spend extended periods in hospital due to severe injuries. She emphasised that “life has no duplicate,” urging motorists to drive responsibly and avoid overspeeding, overloading and other unsafe practices that contribute to preventable fatalities.
